Mt Pelier Cottages

Set in two acres of tropical woodlands on a hillside, the very private accommodation consists of latticed and fretworked wooden cottages sleeping from 1 to 6 people. The woodlands surrounding the cottages are made up of fruit trees, giant mahoganies and other hardwoods. These, and the reliable breeze, make the cottages and the land itself shady and cool.

Attached to the bedrooms there are balconies where you can enjoy the wild life with your morning beverage or the stars in the clear sky with your evening aperitif. The open living and dining areas are close to the cottages. They are set inside the forest itself and are frequented by a whole variety of birds such as the motmot, tanagers and bananaquits who come for food and drink.

The pool is adjacent to the cottages and en route between the bedrooms and dining/sitting room. This is as near a fresh water pool as is possible as it uses a salt/chlorine generator to keep the water clean. Certainly bats and cats find the water good enough to drink! There is a small deck above the pool itself where you can enjoy a relaxed time under the canopy of trees above.

The cost of £40 per person per night (children under 12 free), includes bed, breakfast and a full course evening meal. This includes airport pick up and delivery on departure. Mark will also be willing to take you on a river hike and to take you to the beach should you not wish to hire a car.

There are three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin. One double has an en-suite bathroom, the other two bedrooms share a large bathroom. All bedrooms have balconies. All rooms have fans and lattice windows so are cool at night. Mosquito nets are provided.
