Mary's Hill Lodge
Mary’s Hill Lodge is set in half an acre on the top side of a valley in a semi-rural area. Here you will see and experience the daily colourful life of the Caribbean.
On arrival you’ll climb 34 easy steps, which lead you onto the long and spacious veranda, which then continues around both sides of the house. The house is made entirely of timber with traditional style cedar louvered shutters - At the front of the house there is the balcony, which runs the length of the house.
The kitchen, dining area and sitting room are all incorporated into one light and airy living space. It’s a wonderful place to relax in, whether you’re cooking or chatting to friends whilst drinking a ‘Carib’ beer, or dining amongst the tree tops next to the balcony under the starlit sky.
There are two double bedrooms, one en-suite, which are on either side of the living area, both with large louvered doors that open onto the veranda. Downstairs there is the main bathroom & a single bedroom with a double bed. Mosquito nets are provided.
Life in the Caribbean starts early with the crowing of Chickens & Cocricos. There is singing from the church school, goats in the field below and the most incredible bird song all around you. 27 bird species have been seen so far at Mary’s Hill Lodge...
Mary's Hill Lodge is 30 minutes drive from the airport, 10 minutes drive to Scarborough, the capital of Tobago, where you will find shops, markets, banks etc. It is also only 10 minutes' drive from some beautiful beaches, one of them being Mount Irvine where you can swim, surf and snorkel. It also has a local bar and resturant, and you can get fresh fish from the fishermen to take home most nights.
We can also arrange car hire, which will be waiting for you at the airport with a guide to show you back to the house.
