Excel Airways' offer fares starting from £300 off peak, escalating to £700 peak season (tickets available through tour operator Golden Caribbean tel :0870 777 6911. British Airways fly t to Tobago from the UK once a week on Saturdays, departing from London Gatwick. They do stop at another Caribbean Island both ways, though. BWIA has daily flights from London Heathrow to Piarco, Trinidad. Transfers to Tobago on frequent daily BWIA flights can be arranged, and are included in the fare to the smaller isle. Virgin Atlantic offer direct flights from London Gatwick, on Mondays only, starting from £560 return.

Citizens from the UK, Ireland, Canada and most EU countries do not require a visa for stays of less than three months, and US citizens may stay for up to two months without a visa. Nationals of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa all require visas before entering the country.

When leaving T&T, you'll be required to pay a TT$100 (US$17) departure tax in local currency. You must fill in a departure form before you can check in – you can pick one up from the check-in desk
