Great Courland Bay (Turtle Beach)
This is a long beach with little or no shade. At one point the hotel takes over a whole section. The beach has a serious drop into the sea which gets deep very quickly. Not a particularly good swimming beach but turtles lay their eggs here from January to May. There’s a big fishing facility right next to the hotel where the seine nets are pulled in. Good for buying fish. Nearest beach to Mary’s Hill Lodge.
